Seller’s tips

Tips and what will I need:

Preparation of your boat before listing is essential to command the highest price and facilitate a rapid sale Here is a list of things to think about:

Cleaning

Ensure your boat is as clean as possible inside and out.

Clean the engine bay of water and oil debris & unwanted non-essential items.

Help people imagine themselves here:

Ensure you have removed all personal items and the boat will be sold as seen (saves confusion later) Remove items from the galley and bathroom i.e. loose toilet rolls, kitchen roll, chopping boards, cleaners (put away in cupboards) keep it clean and uncluttered.

Leave the boat dressed, duvets and pillows on the bed – cushions on seating dinettes, small items to show 'lived in and loved', (not any items that have personal attachment though).

Help us manage the sale

Ensure you have enough diesel in the tank (especially over winter) if you have diesel central heating, this has a benefit if we can have the boat warm before showing customers onboard during the winter period.

Inventory: List all boat inventory items: 2 x windlasses, anchor chain and rope, Hand cuff keys CRT and EA keys, any spare parts onboard.

Documents. Any documents showing Central heating, engine, services last blacking – anodes replaced receipts, etc

Hand over the boat manual to us, that way we have any service invoices, receipts and white goods manuals to show relevant items onboard.
